GDA has launched a new line of professional HW circular saw blades for high-end portable machines products designed for professionals who accept no compromises. In this interview, co-owner Gianluca Adami and Nicola Pedrotti, Head of Sales & Marketing, outline the goals, values and strategy behind a project that marks a turning point in the brand’s premium positioning.
GDA presented this new line of professional blades for high-end portable machines at Ligna 2025: what is the main objective behind these new products?
Gianluca Adami (GL): “The main objective behind developing this new line of professional HW blades for high-end portable machines is twofold.

On the one hand, we want to enhance a part of our manufacturing program aimed at demanding professionals who seek guaranteed products for prestigious, high-performance machines delivering maximum precision, durability and toughness.
On the other hand, we’re seizing a market opportunity during a phase of company growth, with the imminent opening of our new plant and headquarters, which will allow us to further raise both quality and production capacity.”
Nicola Pedrotti (NP): “This line targets a fast-growing segment such as professional carpentry and sustainable housing, where performance expectations are high.
We offer a product that combines EU-sourced premium raw materials, Italian manufacturing, and packaging designed to maximize GDA brand visibility.
Investing in a fully European supply chain from raw stock to finished product—is a key value for us: it ensures quality, traceability, and an excellence that professionals both recognize and demand.
In short, this is not just a new line, it’s a calling card for our high-end positioning, with zero-cost brand diffusion potential, thanks to a product that will speak for itself.”
The new blades feature standout characteristics such as extreme impact resistance, maximum stability and ease of use. What concrete benefits can users expect in day-to-day work?
GL: “GDA’s new professional HW circular saw blades are designed to meet the highest end-user demands, delivering performance aligned with high-end machines that can cost end users €1,000 – €3,000.

Just like you wouldn’t put low-quality tires on a Ferrari, these blades are the ideal pairing to fully exploit the capabilities of top-tier portable machines—protecting their integrity and ensuring flawless results.
The tangible benefits for professionals are many:
- Precision cutting thanks to optimized tooth forms (alternate, trapezoidal or SDV, depending on model) and high stability that minimizes vibration and defects.
- Extreme durability, with top-quality European materials and heat treatment that withstands impacts and intensive wear, reducing downtime from frequent replacements.
- Safety and ease of use, with laser-etched information on re-sharpening and material composition on the blade body, plus an intuitive user guide for error-free selection and use.
From hardwoods to abrasive composites (such as fiber-cement or laminates), to aluminum and light alloys, to plastics and metal, these blades provide a top-of-the-range solution for those who cannot compromise on cut quality or tool life – an investment that pays back through superior results and lower operating costs over time.”
The innovative packaging and intuitive user guide are very interesting. How do these choices support resellers and facilitate the final sale?
NP: “The packaging of our new professional HW line was engineered to support resellers and simplify professional purchasing – combining immediate visual impact with innovative technical solutions.
Here’s how it boosts sales:
- Eye-catching, recognizable visual design: The graphics reflect GDA’s identity – rooted in artisan tradition yet globally minded – focusing on clarity, immediacy and a look that communicates professionalism at a glance.
- Technical and sustainable innovation: We introduced a water-based polypropylene inner coating that’s shock-resistant and waterproof – an industry first. It’s eco-friendly (100% recyclable) and protects the blade better than traditional materials, a detail professionals value.
- User-friendly: The box is easy to handle, with clear technical information and color coding that simplifies identifying the ideal application (wood, laminates, metals) all without sacrificing the robustness essential for logistics.
- Brand trust: Packaging quality reinforces product quality. Laser marking on the blade and details such as re-sharpenability are tangible signals of our transparency and expertise.
For resellers, this means:
- Greater shelf appeal: Coordinated design creates recognition at a glance, while practicality simplifies stock management.
- A product that ‘sells itself’: The balance between emotion (design) and reason (guaranteed performance) reduces purchase objections.”
GA: “Not only that. We’ve also invested in in-store presentation. We designed dedicated display stands of different sizes, combining functionality, aesthetics and customization. Their design provides a clear, tidy display of blades, even in tight retail spaces.
These displays increase GDA brand visibility and recognition, can be customized with the dealer’s logo, provide ongoing sales and marketing support, and improve the end-customer’s shopping experience.
In short, we didn’t ‘reinvent the wheel’, we optimized it—taking the best on the market and adding the technological and sustainable plus that sets us apart.”

You highlighted the importance of top-quality EU raw materials: how does this choice affect overall blade quality and performance?
GA: “For GDA, using European, top-grade raw materials is not just a production choice, it’s a non-negotiable pillar of our corporate philosophy. This strategic decision guarantees our professional customers a constant, uncompromising level of quality, now and in the future.
Why this choice makes a difference:
- Traceability and total control: By working exclusively with EU suppliers, we maintain direct control over every stage of the chain, from selecting steels, to carbide for the teeth, to brazing materials. This lets us avoid the quality swings typical of extra-EU sourcing, often subject to uneven standards.
- Superior performance and life: European raw materials, combined with our manufacturing expertise, ensure blades with impact resistance and cut reliability that professionals recognize. An example? Our quality claim rate is below 0.1%, and almost always tied to factors external to the product.
- Long-term investment: Choosing nearby suppliers also reduces environmental impact and supports a sustainable economy. Above all, it enables coordinated innovation with our partners, continuously improving products without compromise.
For end users, this means:
- Consistent performance: Those who choose GDA know every blade – today and five years from now – will deliver the same excellence.
- Safety assurance: No risk of hidden defects or uncertified materials, protecting investments in high-end machinery.
Our answer to those seeking ‘low-cost’ blades is clear: we’d rather produce less, but only products worthy of our name. Because for us, quality isn’t optional, it’s the only way.”

What is GDA’s commercial strategy to introduce and promote this new range to resellers and reach potential customers?
NP: “Our commercial strategy for the new professional HW line is built on a collaborative, targeted approach with our most strategic customers.
From the early development stages, we involved selected professionals and resellers, gathering concrete needs and feedback on market positioning.
This enabled us to create a product that perfectly answers the requirements of those who use high-end portable machines every day.
Here’s how we’ll promote the range:
- Targeted launch: Starting late September, the first to benefit will be the partners who helped shape the line – giving them an initial competitive edge.
- Dedicated support: We’ll equip resellers with technical and training tools to communicate the blades’ advantages, emphasizing pairing with premium-class machines.
- Flexibility and listening: We’ll continuously monitor market needs to adapt swiftly, keeping the focus on perceived quality and brand loyalty.
For end users, this means:
- Access to a field-tested product with guaranteed compatibility and superior performance.
- The certainty of choosing a reliable partner that invests in innovation without losing sight of real-world shop-floor needs.
We’re not showing all our cards, but one thing is certain: this line is by professionals, for professionals – and the numbers will speak for themselves.”
What strategic role do you envision for this new blade line within GDA’s overall offering in the coming years?
GA: “The new HW line is a calculated bet for GDA, grounded in our established experience in professional blade manufacturing.
We’re not inventing from scratch; we’ve evolved and refined a range we already knew well, organizing it more clearly by material: from woods and composites to light alloys and metals (with carbide/Widia versions), and up to PCD special solutions for abrasive materials like fiber-cement.

This line isn’t a simple catalog add-on—it’s a strategic wager on a fast-growing niche: high-end construction professionals and top-tier industrial joinery.
Customers who demand precision, longevity and compatibility with superior-level machines—and who are willing to invest in products that guarantee impeccable results.”
NP: “In the near future, these blades will be:
- A calling card for GDA in the premium segment, proving we can combine manufacturing tradition with innovation.
- A growth engine, because we believe quality construction and specialist machining will keep expanding—and we want to lead the way.
We’re not chasing a fad: we’re anticipating a real need, with the confidence of those who know their trade. And if professionals choose us, it’ll be the best confirmation that we were right.”
To conclude, if you had to sum up this new blade range in three fresh adjectives – not used in the promotional material – what would they be?
GA: “I’d choose:
- Bespoke – Like a tailored suit, each blade is designed to match high-end machines and specific materials, with precision that makes the difference in the final result.
- Resilient – Not just tough, but able to maintain excellent performance under stress, just like the professionals who use it.
- Connective – It intelligently links technology, sustainability and usability, creating a bond between the machine, the operator and the material being cut.”
NP: “If I may add a fourth: prescient, because it anticipates the needs of an evolving market, where quality and specialization will be increasingly decisive.”
